Come along on a tasting tour as we explore how 19th-century German brewing innovations changed the beer world forever. Discover how local German roots made Pennsylvania a brewing center before the devastation of Prohibition, and how craft brewers are reviving the region's beer reputation by focusing on quality ingredients according to German tradition. Compare and contrast a guided tasting of 10 beers - 5 original "old world" German icons side by side with 5 "new world" Pennsylvania interpretations of classic German beer styles, from pilsner to weizen, from dunkel to doppelbock.
The Philly RollerGirls will be on hand to pour beer from Victory, SlyFox, Yuengling, Stoudt's, Troeg's, Warsteiner, Paulaner, Kostritzer, Ayinger and Spaten breweries.
