Opening Tap 2010

Celebrate America's Best Beer-Drinking City at the official opening festival of Philly Beer Week. Join beer fans, brewers and publicans at this fun event featuring a wide range of outstanding ales and lagers - including Brotherly Suds 1, the Official Collaboration Ale of PBW. It's a showcase of the region's fine breweries and a tribute to the social and economic contributions of the city's beer scene - held within a few steps of the birthplace of America.

Independence Visitor Center
6th and Market Streets, Philadelphia
Tickets - $40 ($25 designated driver). NO SALES AT DOOR.
Must be 21 or older to attend.
Arrive safely - Use SEPTA ... or stay the night at one of Philly Beer Week's participating hotels.
Ask about group sales (minimum 10).

Witness the over-the-top arrival of the mythical Hammer of Glory.
Be on hand as we kick off all the fun with a ceremonial tapping of the first keg.
Raise a toast with your favorite beer in the shadow of Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell.
Rub elbows with special guests, including Mayor Nutter, Ben Franklin and Joe Sixpack.
Enjoy samples of beer from regional brewers.
Beer-friendly food will be served at an additional price.
Special processional by the Second Street Irish Society Pipe & Drum Band.
Live music by the Flathead Gang.
