Homebrewers: brew your favorite recipe and take it home that afternoon, or you join a collaborative effort to fill a barrel for a one-month primary fermentation. Brewers will need their own equipment, including propane and a burner. Spectators are welcome. Bring your own beer/homebrew; we'll provide lunch.

Philadelphia, PA – On Saturday, May 4th from 12:00pm – 8pm, the South Street Headhouse District will hold its new signature street event, the South Street Headhouse Spring Festival. The Spring Festival will be a free, all-ages celebration of the beginning of the festival season with the best tastes, sounds, and sights that the District has to offer.
The Spring Festival will take place on South Street between 2nd and 8th and on the 2nd Street Plaza between South and Lombard. District restaurants and bars will be serving up a full complement of food and drink, featuring the tastes of cuisine from around the world. Enjoy and sample the fare from over 20 area establishments, as well as enjoy the Maifest celebration at Brauhaus Schmitz on 700 Block of South Street.
The Street Festival will be filled with music, dancing, and entertainment sure to appeal to all tastes. The main stage at 5th and South will feature 8 popular local acts. The sounds of rock, blues, and other great combinations programmed by the Legendary Dobbs and Twisted Tail music venues will be sure to keep the crowd moving and grooving. The young local talents of the School of Rock Band and the Tune Up Philly youth orchestra will also be featured throughout the day. Other musical performances will fill the air at five additional street locations, as well as at participating bars and restaurants.
The Kids Zone will be packed all day with engaging activities for the young and the young at heart. The Spring Festival will also feature a Heroes Zone, recognizing the service of those in law enforcement, fire fighting, and the military, as well as an Artists and Artisans Area, where local artists and craftsmen will be displaying their work. More details about the Spring Festival programming and activities will follow in the coming days.
